Built something worth teaching? Publish it here - credited to you, licensed to everyone, owned by you.

  1. 1

    Build the thing

Guides here are written by people who actually did the build. Take photos as you go - especially of the part that confused you, plus one wide shot of the finished thing. That wide shot becomes your guide’s cover image.

  2. 2

Write it up with the template

Copy the guide template and fill it in: materials with real costs, tools, and one step per work session. The mistakes you made are the most valuable part - leave them in.

  3. 3

    Send it in

Open a pull request if you know Git, or email the finished markdown file. Either way it gets reviewed, edited with you, and published under your name.

The Git path

Copy GUIDE_TEMPLATE.md, add your guide as a new file in src/content/guides/, and open a pull request.

The email path

No GitHub account, no problem. Fill in the template in any text editor and email it with your photos attached - cover shot included. We'll handle the plumbing.

The deal, in plain words

  • Your guide publishes under your name, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0.
  • You keep ownership. The license means anyone can build on it - including you, anywhere else.
  • We edit with you, not over you. Nothing publishes without your OK.
  • No paywall will ever sit between a reader and your guide.
