Build at Your Own Risk

Our guides describe real projects involving real tools - cutting edges, soldering irons, mains electricity, batteries, water near electronics, and heavy things that can fall. We test what we publish and we flag the steps where people get hurt or stuck, but you are solely responsible for your own build: for judging whether a project, tool, material, or process is suitable and safe for you, your skills, your space, and the people around you.

• Electrical work may be regulated where you live. Check local codes; hire a licensed professional where required.
• Projects built with or for children need an adult who owns the sharp ends.
• If a step feels beyond you, stop. The guide will still be here tomorrow.
